Frequently Asked Questions
Why get a facial?
Professional facials help address the consequences of skin imbalances. The beauty industry has developed a variety of products to provide solutions tailored to your specific skin concerns.
How often should you get a facial?
Seasonal facials are the most common approach, as the skin reacts to its environment and must continuously adapt. The treatment recommended by your esthetician will be tailored to your skin’s needs for that time of year. This is also a good opportunity to refresh certain products in your home skincare routine (treatment creams typically last about three months).
An alternative: do a “deep cleanse” with your esthetician at the end of summer and the end of winter (two seasons when skin needs change significantly) and, in between, follow a targeted treatment regimen suited to your skin type.

Which product lines are used for facials?
At the clinic, we use the Canadian line Aquafolia, which offers personalized treatments and skincare products based on cosmeceutical biotechnology research.
This innovative line addresses specific skin conditions while incorporating anti-aging benefits to restore a healthy appearance without compromising skin integrity.
The Esthederm line combines professional “in-clinic” expertise with high-precision care rituals, optimizing skin quality at any age. In-clinic treatments enhance cellular metabolism, strengthen resistance to environmental stressors, and help preserve the skin’s youthfulness.
The performance of our formulas, combined with the precision of our exclusive techniques, helps restore unparalleled skin quality.
How do you determine which facial is best for you?
What exactly are the steps of a facial?
During a facial, the first step is the cleansing phase, which includes cleansing, exfoliation, the application of warm towels, and blackhead extraction if needed.
Next, the esthetician moves on to the treatment phase, which involves applying concentrated serums (vitamin serums) to the face, performing a massage using appropriate techniques, and applying a mask.
Finally, there is the protective phase, during which various products such as serums, day creams, eye creams, and sunscreen are applied to the face.
What are the short- and long-term benefits of regular facials?
First and foremost, a facial deeply cleanses the skin, promoting better cellular renewal. Facials also provide numerous benefits, including a brighter complexion, reduced redness, fewer imperfections, diminished fine lines and wrinkles, improved hydration, and better cellular oxygenation.
That said, to prolong the benefits of a facial, it is important to use products suited to your skin type at home. Maintaining a consistent skincare routine is essential—though unfortunately, it is often overlooked.
How is a blackhead extraction performed? Does it hurt?
The esthetician gently presses on each side of the pore using two tissues to remove the blackhead. Specialized tools are also available for more effective extraction. The area is then disinfected.
Extraction is not very painful, but it is understandably not extremely comfortable either. Pain tolerance varies from client to client. Mild redness may sometimes occur, but with proper technique, the client should never experience injury.
Can I apply makeup after my appointment?
Although it is preferable to let the skin breathe, you can apply makeup after a facial. It is recommended to use non-comedogenic mineral makeup (e.g., Jane Iredale), which allows the skin to breathe.
If your makeup includes SPF, that is an added benefit.
